Jangipur Police District, carved out from the district of Murshidabad, West Bengal has started functioning from January 1, 2020. It has been formed with an objective to quickly respond to the complex problems of public order, crime and internal security in a comprehensive way. This will be done through unitary chain of command, functional specialization and legal authority coupled with accountability. Jangipur Police District, the newest police district of the state, is committed to its responsibilities towards maintenance of law and order, managing traffic, prevention and detection of crime and spearheading various citizen friendly initiatives for the people. The challenges are many and we are on a day-to-day mission towards meeting the same through a judicious blend of human resources and technological tools.
