On 24.06.2025, based on information received from confidential sources, the Farakka PS seized a ten-wheeler truck near Raj Hotel on NH 12, which was heading towards Kolkata from the direction of Malda. After searching the truck, 150 kg of Ganja was recovered from 3 sacks and two persons, 1) Rahmat Ali (45 years) of Dattapukur, District- North 24 Parganas 2) Dhananjay Mahato (46 years) of Manbazar, District- Purulia, were arrested on charges of being involved in Ganja trafficking.

An investigation has been initiated by registering a case under specific sections of the NDPS Act against the arrested persons.
