Based on information received from the Special Task Force, Kolkata, a joint operation was conducted on 18.08.2025 by the Crime Monitoring Cell of Jangipur Police District and Farakka Police Station. During the operation, two persons were arrested. The arrested persons are, 1. Mohammad Monu, resident of Barharwa Police Station area, Sahebganj District, Jharkhand & 2. Mohammad Zafar, resident of St. Thomas Town area, Karnataka. From their possession, counterfeit currency amounting to ₹4,97,500 was recovered, which they were carrying with the intent of trafficking. A specific case has been registered against the arrested individuals under the relevant sections of law, and investigation has commenced.
