Based on a tip-off received from a confidential source, on 14th October 2025, a special police team from Shamsherganj Police Station, led by SI Indira Ghosh, conducted a raid near Tarapur Holy Heart Nursing Home and arrested three persons from the Baishnabnagar Police Station area of Malda district. The arrested individuals are i) Mariam Bibi, ii) Khabir Sheikh & iii) Belal Hossain.

During the operation, the police recovered 1,200 counterfeit currency notes of ₹500 denomination, amounting to a total value of ₹6,00,000.

A case has been registered against the arrested persons under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and investigation has commenced.
