On 07.01.2026, at around 3:00 PM, acting on information received from a confidential source, the police of Sagardighi Police Station came to know that some persons had assembled with a huge quantity of heroin at a house located at Kabilpur, Teghari Koyalpara. Based on this information, a special team of Sagardighi Police Station conducted a raid and apprehended four drug traffickers. During the operation, six sealed packets containing a total of 5.287 kilograms of heroin, along with other incriminating articles, were recovered from their possession. In connection with this incident, a case has been registered against the arrested persons under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Names of the arrested persons: i) Rakibul Sheikh (60 years), S/o Late Moniruddin Sheikh ii) Momina Bibi (45 years), W/o Rakibul Sheikh iii) Hasina Khatun (26 years), W/o Mazdar Ali - all three are residents of Teghari Koyalpara village, Post Office Kabilpur, Police Station Sagardighi, District Murshidabad. iv) Ibrahim Sheikh (35 years), S/o Late Nazrul Islam, resident of Naldahari village, Police Station Lalgola Police Station, District Murshidabad.

The police remain constantly vigilant to keep society free from drugs. Strict action is being taken against drug trafficking.
